I wanted to share an update on our blueberry bushes. As a way to protect the berries from the many birds that live around us, I gave George the idea of placing cages around them. He found a great deal on them from the company that makes them and joined them altogether.
You can see where he has been working hard to add the green bird netting. He joined them all together and added the doors to each end along with soakers on a timer. I think it looks great and will be awesome when they start filling out. The bees will be able to fly in and out as needed but hopefully the birds will not be able to enter. Don’t worry, I keep the bird feeders full and our area is full of wild blackberries and muscadine grapes!
